Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the APJ Gurukul mobile app and admin dashboard collect, why, and how it's protected. APJ Gurukul is a paid learning platform for live classes and course content — we don't run ads and don't sell your data to anyone.

Information we collect

Payment and billing details	Razorpay, when you purchase a course or subscription	Processing your payment. Card/UPI details are handled directly by Razorpay — we never see or store your full payment credentials.

Live classes

Live classes run over an encrypted, DRM-protected video connection (100ms). We do not record your camera or microphone without your knowledge — presenters (instructors/admin) are shown as live video to attendees the same way any video call works. Screenshots, screen recording, and screen mirroring/casting are blocked while class or course video is on screen, to protect instructors' content from redistribution. On supported devices, a detected recording attempt ends your session and applies a short cooldown before you can rejoin.

Who can see what

Students see only their own enrollment, progress, and certificates.
Instructors see attendance and progress only for students in courses/classes assigned to them — never the full student list, payment details, or other instructors' classes.
Admins can see the full catalog, enrollments, and payment records needed to run the platform.

How we protect it

All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
Account sessions are bound to a single device; a new sign-in immediately revokes the previous one.
Data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure in a managed Postgres database, not on individual devices.
We never store your Google password, and payment card numbers are never stored on our servers.

Data retention

We keep your account and learning records for as long as your account is active. In-app notifications older than 30 days are automatically removed. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, contact us at the email below.

Third parties we use

Google — sign-in identity.
100ms — live video infrastructure.
Razorpay — payment processing.
Firebase Cloud Messaging — push notifications.
Google Cloud Platform — hosting and database infrastructure.

Each handles data under their own privacy policies in addition to this one.

Children's privacy

APJ Gurukul is intended for adult learners and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, notify you in-app.
